Taku Etō

Taku Etō (江藤 拓, Etō Taku, born July 1, 1960) is a Japanese politician who has served as a member of the House of Representatives since 2003.

He previously served as the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

A native of Kadogawa, Miyazaki and graduate of Seijo University, Eto was elected to the house for the first time in 2003, succeeding his father, a former government minister, Takami Eto.

He was among the 86 MPs invited to the meeting for the 'one million people rally to protect the Imperial tradition' in March 2006,[4] and among the people who signed ‘THE FACTS’, an advertisement published in The Washington Post on June 14, 2007, in order to protest against United States House of Representatives House Resolution 121, and to deny the existence of sexual slavery for the Imperial military ('Comfort women').
