Tara Hills is a census-designated place (CDP) in Contra Costa County, California, United States.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.6 km2), all of it land.

Tara Hills is located in the San Francisco Bay Area region of Northern California.

The 2010 United States Census[6] reported that Tara Hills had a population of 5,126.

326 households (19.6%) were made up of individuals, and 147 (8.8%) had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

17.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 5.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

San Pablo Avenue borders the northwest side of the neighborhood and is home to many businesses.

Tara Hills is in the West Contra Costa Unified School District.
