Taranjit Singh Sandhu

Taranjit Singh Sandhu (born 23 January 1963) is a retired Indian diplomat who served as High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka and 28th Ambassador of India to the United States.

He was responsible for opening the Indian embassy in Ukraine and also worked there as head of the political and administration wings.

He also worked as consul general in Frankfurt and Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of India in Washington D.C., and Consul General of India in Frankfurt.

[3][4] Sandhu presented his credentials to President Donald Trump in early February 2020 and served until 31 January 2024.

[5][6] He was the Bharatiya Janata Party for the Amritsar Lok Sabha constituency in 2024 Indian general election.
