Population: 281 (2010 Census);[2] 347 (2002 Census);[8] The village is located on the Reut River (a left tributary of the Seym), 51 km (32 mi) from the Russia–Ukraine border, 37.5 km (23.3 mi) south-west of Kursk, 24 km (15 mi) north-west of the district center – the urban-type settlement Medvenka, 7 km (4.3 mi) from the selsoviet center – 1st Gostomlya.
