Tarbert (Scottish Gaelic: An Tairbeart [ən̪ˠ ˈt̪ɛrʲɛbərˠʃt̪]) is the main community on Harris in the Western Isles of Scotland.
The name means "isthmus", "crossing point" or "portage", in Gaelic.
Tarbert has a car ferry terminal which operates to Uig on Skye.
