Tatishchevo (Russian: Татищево) is an urban locality (an urban-type settlement) in Tatishchevsky District of Saratov Oblast, Russia.
[5] The Tatishchevo air base is located near the settlement.
During World War II, in 1941, the 5th Infantry Division of the Polish Anders' Army was formed and stationed in Tatishchevo.
[6] Poles were housed in makeshift camps in dire conditions, mostly in tents and dugouts, and suffered from shortages of food, medicine, warm clothing and footwear.
[7] Due to extreme cold, the Poles were relocated to Kyrgyzstan in early 1942.
