Tchaourou [tʃa.u.ʁu] (Saworo in Yoruba etymology, meaning rattle[citation needed]) is a commune, arrondissement, and city located in the Borgou Department of Benin, a country in Western Africa, formerly known as Dahomey (until 1975).
