The founding president of the college was Shafiqul Islam, then Minister of Education.

The school was shifted to the campus of Madrassah-e-Alia by then education minister Mafizuddin Ahmad.

[4] On 13 April 2009, the principal of Tejgaon College, Abdur Rashid, was arrested for misappropriating 30 million taka and selling fake certificates from 2003 to 2008.
