[1] The station was named Tenbury at opening on 1 August 1861.
It originally formed the eastern terminus of the Tenbury Railway, a five-mile branch from Woofferton; it became a through station in August 1864 with the opening of the Tenbury and Bewdley Railway, which completed the line to Bewdley.
The station was renamed Tenbury Wells on 14 November 1912.
Tenbury station was demolished and factory units were built on its site; Wells Soft Drinks Ltd occupied the site before being sold to the Kerry Group.
