Tennant, Iowa

Tennant is a city in Shelby County, Iowa, United States.

[3] Tennant had its start in 1903 by the building of the Chicago & Great Western Railroad through that territory.

[4] According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.71 square miles (1.84 km2), all of it land.

There were 36 housing units at an average density of 50.7 per square mile (19.6/km2).

30.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 18.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

21.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.

Out of the total population, none are under the age of 18 or of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.

Roy Williamson is the mayor, while Shelly Tearney is the City Clerk.
