Thappana is a 2012 Indian Malayalam-language action comedy film based on the work of Bengali novelist Ashapurna Debi and directed by Johny Antony.
It tells the story of two convicts, the petty thief Samson (Mammootty) and the young girl Mallika (Charmy Kaur), who are released from prison on the same day.
Samson accompanies the depressed girl on her journey back home in Karippa and finds out the cause of the murder attempt on Mallika's husband.
When she finds out that Kannukuttan was cheating her and he was living happily with Nirmala and a kid, she tries to kill him but fails.
Mallika gives a contract to Samson for killing Kannukuttan and pre climax is shown where kannukuttan is seen with a woman and she's in her nudity state but her body is covered by a blanket and that affair happens when police lead by john george come inside to catch him but he runs but samson and his partner kochappi stop him and john brings the woman out dressed properly,it is revealed that kannukuttan was involved in human sexual activity and in which he was involved in immoral affairs therefore kannukuttan's arrested but is released and nirmala hates him after finding the truth,but he tries to take away only for samson to intervene and fight him and his goons,but samson overpowers him and tells the truth about kannukuttan.The climax shows Mallika,samson and kochappi enjoying themselves staying in a truck going for a trip.

An ordinary story has been made endearing through some good script writing, spectacular photography, sensible acting and direction.
