The play received the Pulitzer Prize for Drama for Albert Hackett and Frances Goodrich.
The Diary of Anne Frank was presented in June 1997, in a revision of the Goodrich and Hackett adaptation by Wendy Kesselman, directed by James Lapine.
The production received two nominations for 1998 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play and for Best Featured Actress (Linda Lavin).
