The Ludwik Zamenhof Centre

The Ludwik Zamenhof Centre is a cultural institution located in Białystok, Poland, at ulica Warszawska 19 (19 Warsaw Street).

It was founded at the initiative of the city's president (mayor) in celebration of the 94th World Congress of Esperanto that was held in Białystok from 25 July to 1 August 2009.

The building where the Ludwik Zamenhof Centre is situated was included in the Jewish Heritage Trail, which was opened in June 2008 in Bialystok.

By facilitating the dialogue and allaying the disturbances in inter-human communication we aim to gradually weaken, and in the future to remove the barriers emerging from a natural fear of the other, unknown, and therefore frightening and threatening the integrity of our identity.

Esperanto – Libraro was opened on May 12, 2010, in the building of the Ludwik Zamenhof Centre as a branch of Lukasz Gornicki's Podlaska Library in Bialystok.
