[2][3] Doropoulos’s most noticeable moment came during a test match between Australia and the West Indies at the WACA Ground in 2009 when after Nathan Hauritz went down with during the West Indies second innings with Doropoulos becoming a substitute fielder in his place.

Doropoulos upon his introduction dropped a catch from Sulieman Benn off the bowling of Clint McKay but soon after took a redeeming catch, this time off his WA teammate Mitchell Johnson’s bowling to remove Benn.

Doropoulos was mistaken in several times by commentators, most notably Michael Slater, who said it was Marcus Stoinis who took the catch.

After not being offered a contract by South Australia in 2012, Doropoulos started working in the media working as sports reporter for the Seven Network in Adelaide on Seven News Adelaide where he focused mainly the AFL football while also reporting on his former sport cricket.

[6] In 2024, he moved to Melbourne where he worked in a similar role on Seven News Melbourne, he has also appeared on the station cricket coverage as a boundary commentator a similar role he done on Triple M’s AFL coverage.
