In Greek mythology, Theognete (Ancient Greek: Θεογνήτης) was the daughter of Laodicus.
By Aeson, King of Iolcus, she was the mother of Jason[1] and possibly Promachus (Jason's brother).
[2] In some accounts, she was called either (1) Alcimede, daughter of Phylacus;[3] (2) Polymede[4] (Polymele[5] or Polypheme[6]), daughter of Autolycus; (3) Amphinome;[7] (4) Rhoeo, daughter of Staphylus;[8] and lastly (5) Arne or (6) Scarphe.
