Thiru Vi Ka Park, Chennai

[1] In 2007, the Chennai Corporation developed the park at a cost of ₹ 64 lakhs, including installing statues of some leaders,[2] and opened it to the public in 2008.

However, in 2011, the park was closed owing to construction work of the Chennai Metro Rail.

[4] After several delays, the park was finally reopened to the public on 4 April 2023, inaugurated by Chief Minister M. K. Stalin.

The park now has a walking track, skating rink, beach volleyball court, a basketball court, a cricket net practice space, an open gym, a yoga centre, and a reading zone.

[5] The maintenance of the park was handed over to a private firm, Quess Corp Limited, on 28 November 2023.
