Thiruvalla taluk

The headquarters of the Taluk is in Thiruvalla which covers an area of 154 sq.

Despite having 5.7% geographical area of the district, it holds over 28.6% of the population of the district.The Taluk Area Of Thiruvalla Extends From Kozhencherry Bridge(East)near Maramon and extends Beyond Parumala(West).North From Ezhinjillam North To Pravinkoodu Junction (South).

The taluk is known for its large community of Non-Resident Indians, most of whom are either Gulf Malayalis or have permanently settled in the West.

Due to this migration phenomena, Thiruvalla is one among the taluks in Pathanamthitta district with declining youth population share.

The Taluk is an older settlement of Brahmins and Syrian Christians, and has developed a cosmopolitan culture resulting from the peaceful co-existence of the two communities.
