Tim Inskip

Major-General Roland 'Tim' Debenham Inskip CB CIE DSO MC (17 September 1885 – 23 November 1971) was an English first-class cricketer and British Army officer.

[14] Inkskip was seconded to Army Headquarters in India in 1934–35, before serving at the Imperial Defence College in London in 1936.

[15] He served in the Waziristan campaign, during which he was mentioned in dispatches twice and was made a Companion of the Order of the Indian Empire.

[1][16] He was promoted to the rank of major-general in April 1939,[17] while the following month he was made a member of the Order of the Bath in 1939 Birthday Honours.

[1] He retired from active service in October 1942,[20] but was immediately reemployed and appointed as the honorary colonel of the 6th Battalion, 13th Frontier Force Rifles.

[21] From 1943 to 1945, he was an inspector of military training centres across India, before being appointed on the eve of Indian independence as the chief of staff of the Bhopal State Forces.
