Timothy Goodman House

Built in the early to mid-18th century, it is one of West Hartford's few surviving 18th-century houses.

[1] The Timothy Goodman House stands in southeastern West Hartford, on the west side of Quaker Lane (a busy north–south local artery) just north of its junction with Jackson Avenue.

It is five bays wide, with a large central chimney and a rear leanto section, giving it a saltbox appearance.

The interior includes a number of early 18th-century features, including wood paneled fireplace surrounds, enclosed main beams, and original period doors and door hardware.

Analysis of its roof system suggests a construction date of about 1720, but no house is recorded on deeds for this land until 1778, when Timothy Goodman sold land and dwelling to Isaac and Gideon Webster.
