Adrian John Tinniswood OBE FSA (born 11 October 1954) is an English writer and historian.
He is currently Professor of English Social History at the University of Buckingham.
He was a regional chair of the Heritage Lottery Fund (2004–10) and a member of the National Trust's Council and its Regional Committee for the South-West, and has served as a trustee on a number of boards, including the Bishop's Palace Wells, Bath Preservation Trust and the Holburne Museum.
He is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Buckingham's Humanities Research Institute and Director of Buckingham's Country House Studies programme.
He was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2013 Birthday Honours for services to heritage.
