The area of the district is 1,611.5 square kilometers (622.2 sq mi).

[3] Within the framework of administrative divisions, Tlyaratinsky District is one of the forty-one in the Republic of Dagestan.

[1] The district is divided into seventeen selsoviets which comprise eighty-nine rural localities.

[5] Its seventeen selsoviets are incorporated as nineteen rural settlements within the municipal district.
