Tobías Lasser

Tobías Lasser CBE (May 24, 1911 – May 25, 2006), was a recognized Venezuelan botanist, being a fundamental pillar in the creation of the Botanical Garden of Caracas, the School of Biology and the Faculty of Sciences of the Central University of Venezuela.

He was born in Agua Larga, Falcón State, Venezuela.

He was honoured in 1960, when botanist Richard William George Dennis published Lasseria, which is a genus of fungi in the Helotiales order.
