Tonto Basin is a census-designated place (CDP) in Gila County, Arizona, United States.

Within Tonto Basin is located in the unincorporated community of Punkin Center.

Arizona State Route 188 passes through the community, leading southeast 49 miles (79 km) to Globe, the county seat, and north 30 miles (48 km) to Payson.
