Tony Clarke, Baron Clarke of Hampstead

Anthony James Clarke, Baron Clarke of Hampstead, CBE (called Tony;[1][2] born 17 April 1932) is an English trade unionist and Labour Party politician.

He edited the UPW journal The Post in 1979, and served as the UCW's Deputy General Secretary from 1981 to 1993.

He stood as a Labour Parliamentary candidate for Hampstead in the February and October 1974 general elections, losing both times to Geoffrey Finsberg.

He was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 1998 New Year Honours.
