Towaco /təˈwɑː.koʊ/ is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP)[5] in the township of Montville, Morris County, New Jersey, United States.
Its name reflects the Native American history in the area, which identified the locale as TaWagh, meaning "hill", a reference to the terrain of Towaco.
The Passaic River forms the southeast border of the community, across which is Fairfield Township in Essex County.
U.S. Route 202 passes through the center of Towaco, leading east into Lincoln Park and west 4 miles (6 km) to Boonton.
