Trøndelag Teater

[1] Between 1861 and 1865 it housed the first permanent Norwegian language theatre in the city, the Throndhjems Theater.

Norwegian actor and theater director Henry Gleditsch took charge of Trøndelag Teater in 1937.

His satirical style provoked the authorities of the German occupation of Norway during World War II.

[2] During World War II, the theater "had been a spearhead in the artists' fight against the dictatorship", according to a 2014 Klassekampen article.

[4] In September 1997, the refurbished theater re-opened as part of a modern complex incorporating the old auditorium, supplemented by four new stages of various shapes and sizes.
