Trayning is a town in the north-eastern Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, 236 kilometres (147 mi) east of the state capital, Perth, on the Nungarin–Wyalkatchem Road.

It was first recorded by a surveyor in 1892, and allegedly derives from the Aboriginal word During meaning "snake in the grass by the campfire".

[3] In 1932 the Wheat Pool of Western Australia announced that the town would have two grain elevators, each fitted with an engine, installed at the railway siding.

[7][8] The town is a tourist base for exploring local wildflowers, has a K-7 primary school with 15 students that was opened in 1912, and a 25-metre swimming pool.
