He attended Mission Viejo High School where he played football as an inside linebacker and was used as a wildcat quarterback.

[4][5] Madden finished his collegiate career appearing in 32 games with 15 tackles, 1,489 yards from scrimmage, and 13 total touchdowns.
[10] In Week 7 of the 2017 season, in a game against the New York Giants, he made his first career NFL reception, a catch for −1 yard.
His uncle, Daylon McCutcheon, was a cornerback in the NFL from 1999 to 2006 and is currently an assistant defensive back coach for the New York Jets.
