Trisateles

Trisateles is a monotypic moth genus of the family Erebidae described by Tams in 1939.

Its only species, Trisateles emortualis, the olive crescent, was first described by Michael Denis and Ignaz Schiffermüller in 1775.

Forewing pale ochreous finely dusted with brown; inner and outer lines whitish ochreous, nearly straight; a similarly coloured streak at end of cell; hindwing similar, but without inner line.

The moth flies from June to July depending on the location, and the species overwinters as a pupa.

The genus has previously been classified in the subfamily Hypeninae of the family Noctuidae.
