United States District Court for the District of Maine

The U.S. attorney for the District of Maine represents the United States in criminal and civil litigation before the court.

As with other jurisdictions of the time, the District of Maine was originally assigned a single judgeship.

The chief judge serves for a term of seven years, or until age 70, whichever occurs first.
