Untervaz

Untervaz is a municipality in the Landquart Region in the Swiss canton of Graubünden.

Of the rest of the land, 4.8% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (8.2%) is non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains).

It is on the eastern foot of the Calanda mountains and is in the Churer Rheintal (Chur branch of the Rhine valley).

[7] The age distribution, as of 2000[update], in Untervaz is; 307 children or 14.7% of the population are between 0 and 9 years old.

[6] In the 2007 federal election the most popular party was the CVP which received 45.6% of the vote.

[4] From the 2000 census[update], 1,270 or 60.7% are Roman Catholic, while 640 or 30.6% belonged to the Swiss Reformed Church.
