Val-de-Comporté (French pronunciation: [val də kɔ̃pɔʁte]) is a commune in the Vienne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in western France.
It was formed on 1 January 2024, with the merger of Saint-Macoux and Saint-Saviol.
On 1 January 2024, Saint-Macoux and Saint-Saviol merged to create the new commune of Val-de-Comporté.
[2] The new commune of Val-de-Comporté is located in the south of the Vienne department, on the border of Deux-Sèvres, in the small agricultural region of "Terres rouge à châtaigniers".
[3][4] It is located 50.6 km (31.4 mi) from Poitiers, prefecture of the department, 59 km (37 mi) from Montmorillon, the sub-prefecture, and 5.5 km (3.4 mi) from Civray, capital of the eponymous canton on which the commune depends.
