Valsassina is a valley in the Alps of Lombardy, northern Italy, within the province of Lecco.
The valley is run by the Pioverna stream, which flows from the Grigne to the Lake Como.
There is a link road to the valleys of Bergamo: the provincial road 64 Prealpina Orobica that the municipality of Moggio rooms at St. Peter's climax and then descends in the Val Taleggio.
The valley is covered in all its length from Pioverna, which stems from the Grigna and flows north and flows into Lake Como at Bellano, a municipality where the river forms a spectacular gorge called the Ravine of Bellano.
[2] The new cheesemakers have not forgotten the ancient livestock raising rules which provide, among other things, the summer transfer of herds on the pastures at higher altitudes.
