Valter Bonacina (born 30 July 1964) is an Italian association football coach and former player who played as a midfielder.
On 8 January 2010, he was then appointed head coach of Atalanta in a caretaker role, following Antonio Conte's resignation from his managerial position at the club.
[1] He then guided Atalanta on a Serie A Week 19 game that ended in a 0–1 away loss to Palermo on 10 January 2009 and returned to his previous role after Bortolo Mutti was appointed as head coach the very next day.
[2] On 10 June 2011 he was announced as the new head coach of Lega Pro Prima Divisione club Foggia.
