The Van Eyalet (Ottoman Turkish: ایالت وان, romanized: Eyālet-i Vān)[2] was an eyalet of the Ottoman Empire.
It was formed in 1548 as one of the Beylerbeyliks of the Ottoman Empire.
[3] Its reported area in the 19th century was 9,616 square miles (24,910 km2).
[4] It included territory in Eastern Anatolia, as well as a small part of present-day Iran (the Sanjak of Sero, today in Urmia County).
