Vanessa García Vega (born July 18, 1984, in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico)[1] is an Olympic and National Record holding freestyle swimmer from Puerto Rico.
[2] García's silver medal in the 50 freestyle, and bronze in the 100 at the 2007 Pan American Games were Puerto Rico's only swimming medals at the Games.
She holds the Central American and Caribbean Games record in the 50 freestyle, set at the 2010 games in Mayahuez, Puerto Rico.
At the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games, García set the Games Records in winning the 50 and 100 frees.
