Vansant is a census-designated place (CDP) in Buchanan County, Virginia, United States.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 7.8 square miles (20.3 km2), all of it land.

At the 2000 census,[1] there were 989 people, 436 households and 309 families residing in the CDP.

The racial makeup of the CDP was 98.89% White, 0.61% Asian, and 0.51% from two or more races.

25.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
