Vanves (French pronunciation: [vɑ̃v] ⓘ) is a commune in the southwestern suburbs of Paris, France.
It is one of the most densely populated municipalities in Europe and the tenth in France.
[3] On 1 January 1860, the city of Paris was enlarged by annexing neighboring communes.
On 8 November 1883, about half of the territory of Vanves was detached and became the commune of Malakoff.
Vanves is also served by Vanves–Malakoff station on the Transilien Paris-Montparnasse suburban rail line.
