Vedalam (soundtrack)

Vedalam is the soundtrack album composed by Anirudh Ravichander for the 2015 Tamil film of the same name, written and directed by Siva starring Ajith Kumar in the titular lead role.

The album featured five songs (including a theme track) and lyrics were written by Madhan Karky, Rokesh, Viveka and Siva.

[2] In November 2014, Yuvan Shankar Raja who worked with Ajith in several projects, was speculated to compose the music for the film.

[6][7] On 1 May 2015, coinciding with Ajith's birthday, Anirudh reported to social media, that the introduction song and theme music for the film has been completed.

[8][9] "Veera Vinayaka", the introductory number is based on the Vinayagar Chathurthi celebrations, similar to "Maha Ganapathi" from Amarkalam (1999) and "Pillayarpatti Hero" from Vaanmathi (1996).

[12] Lyricist Rokesh in an interview to The Hindu, said that "Aaluma Doluma" means a 'sneaky troublemaker' in colloquial Tamil-language in North Chennai.

"[41] Reviewing for Moviecrow, Ramesh S Kannan who gave a rating of 2.5 out of 5 stated that "Anirudh has got mired into an unimpressive set of tunes with occasional highs in terms of orchestration.
