Verkhoshizhemsky District (Russian: Верхошижемский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the thirty-nine in Kirov Oblast, Russia.
It is located in the center of the oblast.
The area of the district is 2,415 square kilometers (932 sq mi).
[2] Its administrative center is the urban locality (an urban-type settlement) of Verkhoshizhemye.
[8] The population of Verkhoshizhemye accounts for 45.9% of the district's total population.
