Vernon Valley is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located in Vernon Township, in Sussex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.

The 2010 United States census counted 1,626 people, 545 households, and 472 families in the CDP.

The racial makeup was 96.31% (1,566) White, 0.25% (4) Black or African American, 0.12% (2) Native American, 1.23% (20) Asian, 0.00% (0) Pacific Islander, 0.49% (8) from other races, and 1.60% (26) from two or more races.

Of all households, 10.8% were made up of individuals and 4.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
