Veselé, Czech Republic

Veselé (German: Freudenberg) is a municipality and village in Děčín District in the Ústí nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic.

Veselé consists of two municipal parts (in brackets population according to the 2021 census):[2] The name literally means 'merry', 'cheerful' in Czech.

It was derived from the original German name Freudenberg, meaning 'merry hill'.

The highest point is the Veselka hill at 460 m (1,510 ft) above sea level.

[6] Among the protected cultural monuments are a statue of St. Anthony of Padua from 1712 and a half-timbered farmstead, built in the first half of the 19th century.
