Vilcas Huamán province

Vilcas Huamán (from Quechua Willka Waman) is a province in the eastern part of the Ayacucho Region in Peru.

One of the highest mountains of the province is Hatun Rumi at approximately 4,200 m (13,800 ft).

The districts, with their capitals in parentheses, are: The people in the province are mainly indigenous citizens of Quechua descent.

Quechua is the language which the majority of the population (89.62%) learnt to speak in childhood, 10.06% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census).
