When a new strategy was used in the mid-1980s, the outcome was better than expected: individuals with spastic types of cerebral palsy showed less muscular tone and more movement volume, which was welcomed by medical professionals, patients, and the parents of the ill children.
Because of its success, the developed rehabilitation method received widespread international acclaim in addition to formal approval in Ukraine.
