Vysoké nad Jizerou

Vysoké nad Jizerou (German: Hochstadt an der Iser) is a town in Semily District in the Liberec Region of the Czech Republic.

The development of Vysoké was hampered by Thirty Years' War, famine in 1771–1772 and large fire in 1834, which destroyed almost all the wooden buildings.

The main landmark of Vysoké nad Jizerou is the Church of Saint Catherine of Alexandria.

Nístějka is a ruin of a castle in Vysoké nad Jizerou founded probably in the 14th century by the Waldstein family.

[9] The ruins consists of remnants of towers, walls and cellars on a narrow, long promontory over the Jizera river near Hradsko.
