WTNT-FM

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) granted a construction permit to the Tallahassee Appliance Corporation on May 4, 1966, for a new FM radio station to broadcast to the city on 94.9 MHz.

[7] The new owners followed up on efforts started by Ingstad to increase power and upgrade the facilities, and Palmer made a major programming move for the pair by securing the rights to broadcast Florida State Seminoles football and men's basketball games.

[11] In conjunction with a relocation of the transmitter from the Hotel Duval, where it was impeded by low height, to a new 850 feet (260 m) mast, WCSN changed call letters to WTNT-FM in December 1983 and revamped its format.

[18] The next year, Paxson sold its entire radio portfolio of 46 stations to Clear Channel Communications, forerunner of iHeartMedia, for $693 million.

[19] Florida State football broadcasts returned to WTNT-FM in 2020 under a new six-year deal between iHeart, the university, and Learfield IMG College.
