Waitahora

Waitahora is a locality in the Tararua District of New Zealand's North Island.

The Waitahora Wind Farm was a proposed wind farm for the area, which was abandoned without construction having started.

[3] Waitahora statistical area covers 538.22 km2 (207.81 sq mi)[1] and had an estimated population of 710 as of June 2024,[2] with a population density of 1.3 people per km2.

The percentage of people born overseas was 7.4, compared with 27.1% nationally.

Although some people chose not to answer the census's question about religious affiliation, 56.7% had no religion, 32.5% were Christian, 2.0% had Māori religious beliefs and 0.5% had other religions.
