Ward is a town in Allegany County, New York, United States.

The town is in the southeast quadrant of the county, north of the village of Wellsville.

In the summer of 1838, a violent windstorm caused destruction of property and loss of life.

The racial makeup of the town was 97.69% White, 1.03% African American and 1.28% Asian.

14.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 6.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
