Wauneta is a village in Chase County, Nebraska, United States.
It's first edition was printed on January 17, 1887 by a young New Yorker named John Hann.
The newspaper printed it's final issue on November 12, 2020 and merged with The Imperial Republican.
This line was built by a division of the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.97 square miles (2.51 km2), all land.
