By 2000, the show had started being significantly pared down as The Weather Channel shifted to a multi-program format, introducing programs such as Your Weather Today, and the gradual implementation of pre-recorded documentary series, such as Storm Stories.
In 1997, the weather wheel system was retooled with a new TWC programming schedule.
The show continued to be the bulk of the channel's schedule, running every half-hour throughout the whole day (excluding the 30-minute overnight The Weather Classroom program for Cable in the Classroom).
A revamp of the channel's presentation in June 2001 dropped the "AM/PM" distinction; this revamp also saw a slew of programs (both long-form and forecast-based) erode the Weather Center evening and weekend time slots; by 2008, only one hour remained.
Beginning in September 2003, the official hosts were Rich Johnson and Jeanetta Jones.
